McSweeney's magazine

McSweeney’s, a quarterly periodical of experimental fiction, is known for its equally experimental formats. They outdid themselves with Issue 53, which includes stories printed on balloons. Balloons are a relatively short lived item, even uninflated, but these can’t be read unless they are inflated. This is a major quandary and it highlights the complexities of being tasked with the long term preservation of works that are intended to be consumed in their use.
